CRACoWi - Digital Europe Project
The CRACoWi project, funded under the Digital Europe Program (DEP ), was officially launched in September 2024. The project, which involves 14 partners from four EU countries, aims to simplify cybersecurity compliance for businesses across Europe. The project will develop innovative tools to help SMEs, manufacturers and retailers meet the requirements of the EU’s Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and strengthen digital security in Europe.
What is CRACoWi?
The CRACoWi – Cyber Resilience Act – Compliance – Wizard project, funded under the Europa Digital program, addresses the growing cybersecurity challenges in the European digital market in response to the European Commission’s Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). The project introduces cybersecurity requirements throughout the product supply chain and aims to streamline compliance processes and improve digital product security in the EU.

The main goal of CRACoWi is to provide automated support for CRA compliance, focusing on cybersecurity from the creation of a product through its entire lifecycle. Through the use of artificial intelligence, the project provides automated CRA self-assessment and supports cybersecurity certification to help manufacturers, distributors and importers meet the stringent requirements of the CRA.
The project emphasizes not only compliance with regulations, but also the importance of proactive cybersecurity management. CRACoWi ‘s holistic approach ensures that products are continuously monitored for vulnerabilities, covering every stage of the product lifecycle and strengthening the security of digital products on the EU market.

Who is involved?
The CRACoWi project involves a consortium of partners from across Europe (Greece, Germany, Slovenia, Cyprus), including SMEs, traders and regulators. The lead partner in the project is ITML – Information Technology for Market Leadership, and the consortium includes a wide range of stakeholders: ITML | ONEKEY | Motor Oil | MORE (Motor Oil Renewable Energy) | Bureau Veritas Group | Tiko Pro d.o.o. | SLOA Limited | AppArt | erminas GmbH | SevenShift | MEAZON | DIH Slovenije | Urad Vlade Republike Slovenije za informacijsko varnost

Our task
We, erminas GmbH, are a central partner in the CRACoWi project. Our focus is on the practical application and evaluation of the CRACoWi Compliance Wizard through the exemplary implementation of use cases. In doing so, we take on a pioneering role in order to analyze the real impact of compliance requirements on companies and provide valuable insights for the further development of the tool.
We are investigating how the new CRA requirements affect affected companies, particularly with regard to organizational processes, technical requirements and economic consequences. The insights gained are incorporated into training courses and training measures to help SMEs implement CRA compliance efficiently.
