Girl’s Day is a great opportunity for young girls to learn about technical careers and explore topics such as technology, computer science and engineering. It aims to encourage more women to enter these professions and show them the opportunities that await them in the industry.

Equal opportunities and enthusiasm for technology

At erminas, we are committed to equal opportunities, curiosity and learning together – values that fit perfectly with Girl’s Day. That’s why we organized an event last year that took place parallel to the Hannover Messe. This was an exciting but also challenging experience for our small team.

A look back: Our experiences from last year

On April 25, 2024, we opened our doors to give the participants an insight into the everyday life of computer scientists. With presentations and a practical workshop on programming with the Calliope mini-computer, the girls had the chance to take their first steps in computer science.

They programmed their own small games and developed creative solutions in teamwork. The day was a complete success and many girls showed great interest in considering computer science as a career option.

Why we are suspending in 2025

Once again this year, Girl’s Day coincides with the Hannover Messe. This presented us with a difficult decision: Do both at the same time or take a break? As we want to devote our full attention to both our trade fair presence and Girl’s Day, we have decided to suspend Girl’s Day 2025.

A look into the future

Our enthusiasm for promoting young talent remains unbroken. Even though we are taking a break this year, we are looking forward to tackling the next Girl’s Day with full energy and giving young girls exciting insights into the world of technology again.
