Digitalization has changed our world – but with the enormous opportunities come new challenges. Cyber security is now more important than ever, as digital products and services are increasingly at the heart of our daily operations. To counter the growing threats in the digital world, the European Union has launched the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). This sets new standards for the cyber security of products and services on the European market. And this is precisely where the CRACoWi project comes in – an innovative approach to support companies in complying with these new security requirements.

As a committed partner of CRACoWi, we at erminas GmbH are delighted to be part of this project. Our expertise in the development of software solutions for enterprise applications, industrial IoT and individual software projects in the B2B sector helps us to shape the future of cybersecurity in Europe together with other stakeholders.

What is CRACoWi?

CRACoWi stands for “Cyber Resilience Act Compliance Wizard” and is a project that supports companies – especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) – in implementing the new cyber security requirements of the CRA. This digital wizard guides companies through the complex requirements of the CRA and helps them to make their products secure from creation to market launch and beyond.

Our contribution to CRACoWi

In our role as technical partner, we at erminas contribute our experience and expertise to the development and implementation of the CRACoWi assistant. It is particularly important to us to provide secure and proven solutions quickly and efficiently. With our erPUB software solution, we already offer a flexible system that processes data decentrally from the machine level to the IT level and can be seamlessly integrated into existing networks to optimize industrial processes. This expertise also flows into the development of CRACoWi.

In addition, erminas has extensive experience in publishing software releases in short, agile cycles – often on a weekly basis. We would also like to test and adapt this agile way of working within CRACoWi to ensure that we can optimally implement the requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act. We are happy to share our findings from this process with the other project partners and the wider community.

Cybersecurity as a holistic approach

What makes CRACoWi so special is its comprehensive approach to cyber security. Companies must not only make their products secure during the development phase, but also ensure security throughout the entire lifecycle. CRACoWi provides tools for automated security risk scanning and assessment, ensuring that companies are prepared for potential threats before they become real problems.

Automated compliance and certification

Another advantage of CRACoWi is its automation. With the help of artificial intelligence (AI), the often complex and time-consuming process of complying with cybersecurity regulations is simplified. Companies can use the system to carry out compliance assessments, apply for the necessary certificates and automatically generate the required documentation. This not only saves time and resources, but also makes it easier for SMEs in particular to access the new standards of the Cyber Resilience Act.

Knowledge transfer and capacity building

One of the biggest challenges in the field of cyber security is access to relevant knowledge. CRACoWi places great importance on equipping companies with the information and tools they need to understand and implement the new requirements. As part of the project, we are committed to building capacity so that companies can take the necessary steps to secure their digital products themselves.

Together for a safer Europe

As part of the CRACoWi project, we not only support the implementation of cybersecurity regulations, but also help to strengthen trust in the European digital single market. By working with partners from across the EU, we are helping to raise cybersecurity standards to a new level.

Our mission at erminas is to improve people’s work through technology. In doing so, we highly value the exchange with our customers and develop customized solutions that are tailored to their specific needs. As part of CRACoWi, we can take this principle even further by helping companies to make their digital products secure and future-proof.

Conclusion

CRACoWi is more than just a compliance tool – it is a strategic response to the growing challenges of cyber security. For companies operating in the EU, the project provides crucial support to secure their products and services according to the latest security standards. As a partner in this project, we see it as our mission not only to lay the technical foundations, but also to create long-term solutions that protect Europe’s digital future.

Together with the other partners in the CRACoWi consortium, we are working to make the digital world more resilient to threats – and we look forward to walking this path together with you.
